Main Responsiblities: The Manager - Legal & GRC will play a critical role in ensuring legal compliance and effective governance within the organization. As Manager of Legal & GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) you will be responsible for providing strategic legal advice and oversight on all legal matters, as well as developing and implementing robust governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal and regulatory affairs, coupled with expertise in governance, risk management, and compliance practices. Key Duties and Responsibilities:Legal Advisory:
Provide expert legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on matters related to real estate development, property management, and investment activities.
Analyze legal risks and implications associated with business decisions and provide proactive solutions.
Document Drafting and Review:
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal documents, contracts, and agreements, including leases, sales contracts, and partnership agreements.
Ensure legal documents are comprehensive, accurate, and aligned with the company\'s interests.
Compliance Management:
Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and industry standards related to real estate and investment activities.
Conduct compliance reviews and audits to assess effectiveness of controls and identify areas for improvement.
Monitor changes in laws and regulations and implement necessary updates to company policies and procedures.
Provide training and education on compliance policies and procedures to employees at all levels.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external legal counsel, and government authorities to resolve legal issues and disputes effectively.
Represent the company in negotiations, mediations, and legal proceedings as required.
Legal Research and Strategy:
Conduct legal research to stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and precedents affecting the real estate and investment sectors.
Develop and implement legal strategies to protect the company\'s interests and mitigate legal risks.
Due Diligence Support:
Provide legal support in the due diligence process for potential acquisitions, partnerships, or other strategic initiatives.
Review legal documentation and assess potential legal risks and liabilities associated with transactions.
Governance Framework:
Develop and maintain an effective governance framework to support the organization\'s strategic objectives.
Establish and oversee corporate governance policies, procedures, and practices to promote transparency, accountability, and ethical behavior.
Coordinate with senior management to facilitate decision-making processes and ensure alignment with governance principles.
Risk Management:
Identify, assess, and prioritize risks across the organization.
Develop risk management strategies and implement risk mitigation measures.
Conduct risk assessments and maintain risk registers to track key risks and mitigation efforts.
Provide guidance to business units on risk identification, assessment, and mitigation practices.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, operations, and IT, to address legal and compliance-related issues.
Communicate effectively with senior management and key stakeholders on legal, governance, risk, and compliance matters.
Prepare and present reports to management and board committees on GRC activities, findings, and recommendations.
The Successful Applicant:
Bachelor\'s degree in Law / Master\'s degree or relevant certifications are a plus. Professional certifications in compliance or risk management are a plus.
5 to 8 years of proven legal experience, with a focus on real estate, property management, and investment.
Prior experience working as a legal consultant in prestigious law firms. Bilingual proficiency in English and Arabic is mandatory.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge of UAE legal framework and regulations pertaining to real estate and investments.
