We are looking for knowledgeable and charismatic LEGAL DIRECTOR N&WA, located in Casablanca office, Morocco.
The Legal Director Norther & Western Africa will be part of the Cluster Leadership Team, contributing to definition of strategic goals of the cluster and taking an important role in the implementation of these strategies and goals realization. Working closely with Country Managers (Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia and the counties of West Africa) will support them with legal advice and business issues prevention and resolution. The incumbent will be implementing legal strategies, rolling out policies and procedures according to the Corporate Legal function guidance. The Legal Director will build, lead and develop the legal N&WA function. The candidate will play an important role in motivating and inspire the legal team. The successful candidate will act as the first point of contact for the functions, markets and departments within the Cluster, helping to assess the operating environment across the Cluster and ensuring compliance of activities with current markets' legislation and practice. The Legal Director will engage and coordination internal and external legal resources and involve in-depth legal research and analysis of local laws in North Africa Cluster Markets when required. The successful candidate will support due diligence activities and acquisitions initiatives by providing legal assessment. The Legal Director will play the role of Compliance Ambassador, promoting compliance practices and ensuring that the organization has been properly trained.
EDUCATION
Law Degree from an accredited Law School.
WORK EXPERIENCE
7+ years of experience in the legal function in multinational corporation or FMCG company. Strong practical knowledge in mergers and acquisitions, demonstrated competence as a practicing attorney in international business transactions, contracts, trade, distribution and competition/antitrust areas. Experience with emerging markets is required. Experience in regulatory, compliance finance, and international law is a plus.
