Assist the Senior Legal Counsel in ensuring legal conformity and minimizing probability of exposure.xc3xbc Provide Legal Guidance: Offer legal advice and counsel to senior management and other stakeholders on various legal matters related to the industry, including regulatory compliance, contract law, environmental law, and corporate governance.xc3xbc Draft and Review Contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents relevant to the companys projects, specifically EPC contracts.xc3xbc Contract Negotiation: Lead or participate in negotiations with clients and subcontractors to finalize contract terms, including scope of work, pricing, payment terms, deliverables, warranties, and dispute resolution mechanisms.xc3xbc Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with local, regional, and international laws, regulations, and standards governing the industry, including environmental regulations, rights, permitting requirements, and safety standards.xc3xbc Risk Management: Identify legal risks and liabilities associated with the companys projects and operations and develop strategies to mitigate risks and protect the organization's interests. Advise on risk management practices and insurance coverage.xc3xbc Legal Due Diligence: Conduct legal due diligence reviews for potential acquisitions, investments, or joint ventures in the industry. Assess legal risks, liabilities, and compliance issues, and provide recommendations to senior management.xc3xbc Dispute Resolution: Manage legal disputes and litigation matters arising from the companys projects, contractual disputes, regulatory enforcement actions, or other legal issues. Represent the organization in negotiations, mediation, arbitration, and court proceedings as necessary.xc3xbc Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external legal counsel, government agencies, regulatory bodies, and industry associations to address legal and regulatory issues, advocate for the organization's interests, and build positive relationships.To qualify for this role, you must have:
Around 3-5 years experience.
Background in the Utility (water, wastewater, desalination, renewable energy, etc.) or Construction industry.
Proficiency in drafting and reviewing contracts within the EPC field (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction).
Demonstrated experience in drafting and reviewing contracts with a minimum value of $10 million USD and above.
Bachelor's degree in Law and Masters in Law is a plus.
