The Position
Scope of the job: The Compliance and Legal Officer for Roche Diagnostics Africa (DIA) in the North and West Africa (NWA) Network comprising Morocco, Mali and Mauritania, is a pivotal role responsible for managing high-complexity compliance activities within the assigned affiliate in the designated division.
This role encompasses evaluating existing and evolving healthcare and privacy compliance, ethics, and related legislation and regulations, particularly focusing on a wider cluster of French-speaking African countries presently serviced out of France as export markets on a transitional interim basis. The incumbent will also be responsible for addressing legal matters pertinent to the region.
Main Responsibilities: -Spreading awareness of Roche's Code of Conduct, the French anti-bribery prevention program (Loi Sapin II), and Roche's Compliance culture through regular employee training and awareness sessions. -Conducting the anti-bribery compliance program applicable to the Export Markets and defining the implementation of anti-bribery prevention and detection policies, controls, and best practices. -Performing distributor compliance training, due diligence, controls, and audits. -Acting as a contact point for Export teams, providing guidance on compliance matters. -Contributing to internal investigations of suspected non-compliant behaviors, including conducting interviews, desk reviews, and recommending disciplinary measures in case of non-compliance with the Code of Conduct. -Collaborating with the Africa Network Compliance Team on transversal projects to support the achievement of the 10-year strategy.
Experience / Educational Background: -Lawyer by education, with a Master's Degree in Law or equivalent Bar Exam qualification. -Experienced in legal and compliance matters, preferably with experience in a law firm or the Legal & Compliance Department of an international firm. -Familiarity or experience with French anti-bribery legislation, particularly Loi Sapin II, would be advantageous. -Proficiency in French and Arabic languages, English is a plus
