Job Description

Position Overview:

The Lecturer in BBA Marketing is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and academic support in marketing to undergraduate students. This role includes developing and teaching marketing courses, engaging in research, and providing mentorship to students. The Lecturer will ensure that the curriculum remains relevant and up-to-date with current marketing practices and trends, preparing students for successful careers in various marketing roles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teaching & Curriculum Development:
• Design and deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical sessions on a variety of marketing topics including consumer behaviour, digital marketing, brand management, market research, and sales strategies.
• Develop and update course materials, including syllabi, lecture notes, assignments, and case studies, to reflect the latest industry trends and best practices.
• Utilize innovative teaching methods such as real-world case studies, project-based learning, and digital marketing simulations to enhance student understanding.
• Integrate the latest marketing tools and technologies into the curriculum, such as CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, and data analytics software.
• Student Assessment & Mentorship:
• Create, administer, and grade assessments including exams, projects, and presentations to evaluate student learning and performance.
• Provide constructive feedback to students on their assignments and projects, helping them improve their analytical and practical marketing skills.
• Mentor students on academic and career development, guiding them in research projects, internships, and job placement within the marketing field.
• Support students in developing portfolios, certifications, and practical experiences that enhance their employability.
• Research & Scholarly Activities:
• Engage in research within the field of marketing, focusing on areas such as consumer behavior, digital marketing strategies, market segmentation, and brand management.
• Publish research findings in reputable journals and present at academic conferences, contributing to the advancement of marketing knowledge.
• Supervise and support undergraduate research projects, encouraging students to explore innovative marketing topics and real-world applications.
• Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary research projects and seek external funding for research initiatives.
• Industry Engagement:
• Develop and maintain connections with marketing professionals, companies, and industry organizations to enhance the relevance of the curriculum and provide practical insights to students.
• Organize guest lectures, workshops, and industry events with marketing experts to expose students to current industry practices and trends.
• Facilitate student internships and industry placements, helping students gain hands-on experience in various marketing roles and sectors.
• Stay updated with industry developments and trends, ensuring that teaching materials and methods reflect the current state of the marketing field.
• Departmental & Administrative Activities:
• Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and accreditation processes to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the BBA Marketing program.
• Contribute to departmental activities such as organizing marketing conferences, seminars, and workshops.
• Assist in student recruitment and retention efforts, promoting the BBA Marketing program through outreach and engagement activities.
• Support departmental goals and initiatives, collaborating with faculty members and administrative staff to enhance the academic experience.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A Master's or Ph.D. degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
• Professional experience in marketing, with practical knowledge of areas such as digital marketing, market research, brand management, and sales strategies.
• Experience of 3 to 5 years in teaching or training, preferably in a higher education setting.
• A record of research and publication in marketing or related fields is advantageous.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of marketing principles, tools, and techniques, including digital marketing, market analysis, and consumer behaviour.

• Proficiency with marketing software and platforms, such as Google Analytics, SEO tools, CRM systems, and social media marketing tools.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex marketing concepts in an engaging and understandable manner.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students, fostering a supportive learning environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to balance teaching, research, and administrative responsibilities.
