The Lead Test Engineer is responsible for defining and managing the test strategy for satellite, from unit level to system level. Working in close coordination with design and software teams, you will issue test requirements, validate procedures, ensure results are consistent and troubleshoot and resolve issues. This role requires a strong technical background in satellite systems and a deep understanding of test methodologies.
### About This Role:
• + Test Development:
+ Develop comprehensive test plans for satellites, covering unit, subsystem, and satellite level testing.
+ Define test objectives, test cases, and automated test procedures to ensure thorough verification and validation of payload and satellite performance and/or workmanship.
+ Collaborate with engineering teams to align test plans with system requirements and design specifications.
+ Test Requirement Definition:
+ Coordinating with Engineering, define detailed test requirements for software and hardware components, including test parameters, tolerances, and acceptance criteria.
+ Provide clear and concise test requirements to software engineers to enable the development of automated test scripts and procedures.
+ Test Execution Oversight:
+ Oversee the execution of tests, ensuring adherence to test plans and procedures.
+ Monitor test progress, identify potential issues, and take corrective actions.
+ Collaborate with test technicians to troubleshoot test failures and resolve anomalies.
+ Test Data Analysis and Validation:
+ Analyze test data to verify system performance and identify deviations from specifications.
+ Validate test results and provide technical assessments and dispositions for test anomalies.
+ Generate comprehensive test reports, documenting test results, anomalies, and corrective actions.
+ Test Environment Setup and Maintenance:
+ Design test articles, controls, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems for electrical and mechanical flight hardware.
### Must Haves:
• + Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
+ 8+ years of experience in satellite testing and validation.
+ Strong understanding of satellite subsystems, including RF, digital, and analog electronics.
+ Experience with test equipment and measurement techniques, including environmental testing.
+ Proficiency in test automation tools and scripting languages.
+ Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation (e.g., electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, CAD models, wire lists)
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
+ Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
