:Wood is currently recruiting for Lead Telecoms Engineer to be based at our Abu Dhabi Engineering Center.Responsibilities:
Engineering Design, Conceptual, FEED and detail Engineering experience
Proposal Estimation (Manhours, Deliverable list with Manhours & Costing estimation for proposal in Telecom systems
Leads telecoms activities for Projects, ensuring EPC Contractor and Telecom System Integrator (TSI) deliver the project that follows the Project and Cyber Security requirements, provide interfaces with third party systems and ensuring that all Telecom systems are following the industrial Codes and Standards.
Support interfacing between Telecom systems and key vendors (including Digital System Integrator (DSI)) and other EPC contractors to ensure quality and execution objectives are met.
Ensure telecoms engineering activities are conducted in accordance with project specifications and approved variations if any.
Accountable for a quality design of telecoms engineering deliverables, including design safety aspects and execution planning of telecoms field activities.
Lead work execution, ensuring technical alignment and quality with various disciplines stakeholders from both PMT and EPC Contractor.
Provides guidance to EPC contractor to complete Telecom design as per project specifications in a timely manner and provide clear direction on project objectives.
Preparation of Telecommunication Engineering deliverables including Design Basis, Specifications for various Telecommunication Systems, System Block Diagrams, Datasheets, MR.
Producing Radio Coverage Calculations, Fresnel Zone Calculations, estimating antennae height, etc.
Perform Fiber Optic Link Budget Calculations, Data and Telephony Traffic Analysis, Capacity / Bandwidth Calculations, Public Address Sound Pressure Level Calculations.
Telecom Equipment Power Consumption and Heat Load Calculations.
Develop Telecommunication Systems Architecture Diagrams.
Provide engineering input to engineering drawings including Device Location Plans, Cable Routing Layouts, Instrument/Device Installation Details, Interconnection Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Circuit & Connection Diagrams, Cable Block Diagrams and MDF / IDF Schematics, FO Allocation Diagrams, Device and Equipment Schedules etc.
Schedule/Diagrams, etc. prepared by designers.
Co-ordinate with other disciplines and review of other discipline deliverables.
Carryout onshore and offshore site surveys as required.
Attend interface meetings with Clients and Vendors to progress design scopes
Qualifications:
Bachelor\'s degree in Telecom Engineering or Electronics and Communications Engineering
Experience of working with multi - national and multi - cultural project teams is strongly preferred.
Competent to carry out the Design activity in the Design-Check-Approve-Authorize cycle, and to check the technical deliverables of designers.
General knowledge of other related disciplines.
Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks.
Must be self-motivated, results oriented, and be flexible to work well under tight schedules in a fast paced multi-disciplinary team environment.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and Communication.
Good oral and written English skills able to produce fluent Documents, Reports, and Technical Notes
Experience Requirements:
15+ years\' experience working in telecoms, in large Oil & Gas Facilities having broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, onshore and offshore facilities design, construction and operations.
Conversant with relevant Telecommunications national and international standards and has a broad understanding of all aspects of Telecommunications systems and a deep understanding of own specialty.
Proven track record of delivering a portfolio of Telecom EPC projects including complex and multiple vendor projects within international settings.
Requires hands on expertise and design experience with telecoms equipment and systems design (OTN, UHF TETRA VHF radio Systems, IP Networks), security (access control, CCTV surveillance networks, fence intruder detection, ANPR), public/emergency announcement (PAGA), and networks (WANs, LANs, Industrial Wireless Networks Wiring, Routers, Switches, Servers etc.) ship/shore communication systems, Hazardous area requirements.
Shall be proficient in fiber optic cabling network design, copper cable networks and relevant infrastructure such as duct banks, cable / ladder tray designs. This shall include transition of design engineering to construction deliverables.
