Job Summary: Provide complete services including preparation of structural systems drawings, foundations, roofs, civil site work drawings based on existing local utilities and facility load and use. Compile and integrate work of other disciplines into the project documentation. Attends meetings as required for projects or investigative/project development taskings. Responsible for construction inspections, quality control, submittal reviews beyond the expertise of construction managers. May be required to travel to areas in the local area outside of the military installation to verify compliance and quality of work being performed on jobs/projects.
Job Duties: Plans, designs, and reviews plans for erection of structures requiring stress analysis. Designs structure to meet estimated load requirements, computing size, shape, strength and type of structural members, or performs structural analysis of plans structures prepared by other engineers. Analyzes specifications and performance requirements to ensure that designs meet specifications. Analyzes engineering proposals, requirements and related technical data pertaining the design. Determines feasibility of designing new structures or modifying existing structures considering costs, available space, time limitations and other technical and economic factors. Provides technical information concerning erection techniques, materials, properties and advantages and limitations that affect long-range engineering planning. Compiles and analyzes operational, test and research data establish performance standards for newly designed or modified structures.

Basic Job Requirements . Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and six (6) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements . Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors . Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job . Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines . Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner . Professional registration and membership in technical society (preferred) . Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials . Practical field experience . Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs
