:Wood is presently looking to hire a Lead Structural Engineer to be seconded to ADNOC Offshore office in Abu Dhabi. Below are more details about the role. This position is to support client\'s in house engineering projects and NOT a PMC position.Responsibilities:
Leading a team of engineers, designers and delivering the civil, structural design calculations & drawings within stipulated time by providing the proper guidance & technical support
Develop Structural design from the Conceptual Stage through the Detailed Design Stage providing sustainable and efficient solutions
Extensive analysis knowledge of In-place, Preservice, Spectral Fatigue, Seismic, Pushover and Jacket Mating for Fixed Platform structures and In-place, Lifting, Transit and Blast condition of offshore Structures
Provided guidance/instruction to engineers for various secondary/miscellaneous calculation and designers for detailing/drawing
Preparation of specifications for design basis report, soil investigation in line with client requirements
Cross functional teamwork for optimizing the layouts & general arrangement of structures, vendor drawings / foundation loads of the structures and for resolving the interference issues
Engineering co-ordination with other departments, projects team & site team for inputs or comments on civil & structural drawings prior to submission to client for approval
Technical discussions with Sub Contractor consultants for review & approve the drawing and design calculations
Hands on experience in industry software 3D Model Review Tools (SPR & Navis Works), MS Office Suite, etc.
Review of geotechnical report and interpretation of soil parameters for the analysis and design of shallow, pile foundations
Participation in the project co-ordination meetings with the site, vendors, review consultants and client to resolve the technical issues. Prioritising the engineering activities to meet project schedule
Evaluate supplier/subcontractor bids for compliance to COMAPANY specifications and scopes of work
Site visits to resolve the construction problems and site mismatches with respect to drawings issued for construction
Providing pre- bid engineering support by calculating the architectural, civil & structural BOQ\'s
Preparation of standard spread sheets, auditing & approving the standard design programs/ templates related to civil & structural engineering

Qualifications:
Bachelor\'s degree in Civil engineering or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of fifteen (15+) years of relevant experience in the Offshore/Onshore Oil & Gas industry, including minimum (5) years (preferred) in GCC region
Candidates with Masters in Structural Engineering are preferred
Must have at least five (5) years of experience in similar position in a mega Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects, managing team of Specialists, Senior Engineers and Engineers
Offshore experience is must, whilst ADNOC experience is desired
Expert in using structural software such as SACS, STAAD Pro, Intermediate knowledge on FEM software like ANSYS & FEMAP, review software like TEKLA & NAVIS and conversant in mathematical tools like Mathcad and MS Excel
Familiar with International codes and standards like API, AISC, ISO, EN1993 (EURO), BS, ABS and DNVGL. Also conversant of ADNOC design standards
Able to communicate in English both in verbally and writing with other disciplines & multinational work forces in effective manner
