:Wood is presently looking to hire Lead Piping Engineers to be based at our Abu Dhabi Engineering Center. Below are more details about the positions.Responsibilities:
Administratively and technically manages all piping personnel under his responsibility.
Responsible for Proposals Manhours estimation and optimization, CTR inputs, Execution Methodology
Ensuring Efficient and effective production of project deliverables within the stipulated schedule, budget and delivered to the client.
Provide skills, integrity, and knowledge in key areas of discipline engineering, including design codes, legislative/Client Specification requirements and current good engineering practices.
Effectively manage design changes and provide appropriate solutions as and when needed during the Project execution.
Understands clients \'needs, identifies, and addresses design parameters and problems, and develops and implements solutions.
Ensure recognized onshore engineering practices applicable to piping design and topside/plant layouts are adopted.
Responsible for the production/review of Piping deliverables such as Study Reports, Design Calculations, Stress Analysis Reports, PMS and Piping Material/Fabrication Specifications/Procedures, Material Requisitions and Technical Bid Evaluations
Responsible for the review of Piping drawings including 3D Models, Drawings(Layouts, Plot Plans, GADs, Isometrics) and Piping MTOs
Responsible for conducting Plot Plans, Safety Layouts, and 3D Model Reviews as per the Project requirements.
Participates during key project reviews, plot plan reviews, Hazop / SIL reviews, constructability reviews and Design/model review meetings.
Shall be able to work independently/with minimum guidance, and coordinate well with the piping materials, Stress and Layout engineers/designers besides other disciplines.
Performs Inter-discipline & discipline QA/QC and engineering compliance checks on all work performed by themselves or junior engineers within the group.
Adherence to company processes and procedures
Manage discipline-related activities and work share with other work centers.
Assists the Engineering Manager and the Project Engineers with technical coordination of interfaces and identification of potential deviations or discrepancies.
As part of his role, the Candidate should have good knowledge on the below items.
Application of Piping Codes including ASME B31.3/B31.1, BS EN 13480.
Application and selection of Piping Materials
Application of Material and Piping Component Codes ASTM, API, BS, MSS SP
Exposure to Piping Layouts and review of piping deliverables such as Piping Plots, Piping Nozzle orientation Drawings, General Arrangement Drawings, Isometrics and material lists.
Wall thickness calculations.
Pipe stress and Flexibility analysis calculation.
Design/specification of pipe supports.
Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
Lead and supervised a team of Piping Engineers and Designers
Hands-on experience in Piping Software\'s -3D Design Software (AVEVA, Smart Plant, etc.) and CAESAR II/Auto Pipe Stress Analysis software.
Good interpersonal skills and excellent command in English
Communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals outside of the Company.
Oil and Gas Projects working with Major Consultancy Companies and minimum 5 years\' experience in the lead role
Different Stages of Projects(Concept, FEED and Detailed Design) of large-sized Onshore projects
Piping Engineering(Layout Design, Piping Materials and Stress Engineering) of Onshore Processing/Refinery Plants
