Job Summary
• To Develop, Implement and Manage Business Continuity Planning (BCP) activities across the bank
Main Accountabilities (Maximum of 10)
Strategic Planning initiatives
• Set BCP goals and targets in line with organizational goals and measures
• Develop and implement a BCM policy and framework in line with standards
• Development and implementation of Crisis Management process
• Plan and conduct the Business Impact Analysis exercise (BIA)
• Conduct Risk assessment to identify critical processes and build BCP for branches and departments
• Build and incorporate plans (CALL TREES) to manage different events or disruptions
BCP Training and Testing
• Conduct brainstorming sessions with wardens and emergency teams
• Plan and conduct emergency testing (drills) across branch/back office
• Working closely with other business units to achieve BCM objectives
• Facilitate technology recovery testing in liaison with IT and pertinent departments - subject to availability and arrangement from IT
• Facilitate BCP training initiatives in coordination with Human Resources.
• Conduct firm wide (branch/back office) trainings on BCP/safety
BCP Review & Monitoring
• Highlight Risks and provide recommendations on safety/BCP
• Delegate BCM tasks to other BCM members to achieve objectives
• Review Incidents OR Audit observations and find remedial measures
• Conduct BCM gap assessment on BCM progress compared with BCM policy
• Review pertinent contracts/SLA and provide BCP recommendations
Information/IT Security
• Monitoring the implementation of IS policy and conduct periodic review of IS policy and IS testing initiatives
• Periodically review and update on IT security in coordination and following up with IT
• Coordinating and following up Information Security Review and Audits
Reporting
• Report to Head of Risk Management & Controls, on a periodic basis, on BCM objectives and progress
• Provide periodic (Quarterly/Yearly) updates to the management on BCM progress and accomplishments.
• Compilation of specific reports following testing or incidents
• Handle specific tasks/reports assigned by the Head - Operational Risk & BCP and/or Chief Risk Officer.
Basic Qualifications, Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree, preferably master's degree
• Certifications in IT/BCP will be an added advantage
• At least 5-7 years of practical experience handling a similar role with 10-15 years of banking experience preferably in IT or operations.
