Description:The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in facilitating and coordinating engineering efforts among our global offices, with a specific focus on supporting clients in the MENA/CIS region. This position requires strong communication and collaboration skills to unite diverse engineering teams, ensuring best practices are shared and applied effectively. By enhancing teamwork across various locations, the Lead I&C Engineer will drive project efficiencies and deliver high-quality instrumentation and control solutions tailored to our regional clients' needs.Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Lead the design, modification, and analysis of instrumentation and control systems for a range of projects, from existing plant retrofits to new generation installations.
Develop control strategies for implementation in Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), and prepare specifications for the procurement of instrumentation and control equipment.
Serve as a liaison among various engineering teams located in different offices worldwide, coordinating design activities to ensure that all systems comply with specifications, industry standards, codes, and client requirements.
Collaborate with project managers to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
Prepare and review functional design documents, including control logic diagrams, I/O lists, signal flow diagrams, and instrument data sheets.
Interface with vendors for the preparation of bills of material and equipment purchase specifications, providing recommendations for instrumentation and control solutions.
Prepare reports and studies that present technical information clearly and concisely, meeting both client requirements and company formats.
Conduct independent reviews of work performed by other engineers, including calculations, design documents, and control system configurations.
Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced engineers, focusing on instrumentation and control design and implementation.
Participate in peer-learning through [Your Company Name]s systems of processes and Communities of Practice.
Communicate and interact with client staff and travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews, as well as to plant locations for construction coordination and field verification of designs.
Qualifications:This position is UAE based.Essential skills and experience:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on control systems preferred.
10+ years of experience in instrumentation and controls design, particularly in power plants, including Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) facilities and/or SWRO Desalination plants, focusing on integrated, detailed system design.
Proven experience in selecting instrumentation and control equipment, developing control strategies, and preparing specifications.
Expertise in control system design, including control loop design, field instrumentation (sensors, transmitters, actuators), and communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Foundation Fieldbus).
Proficiency in performing calculations for control systems, including loop tuning, response time analysis, and safety instrumented system (SIS) calculations.
Familiarity with international codes and standards relevant to instrumentation and controls, including ISA, IEC, and NFPA.
Strong technical knowledge of available instrumentation and control equipment, including DCS, PLCs, and safety systems.
Experience in physical design, including the layout of instrumentation, control panels, raceways, and equipment locations within industrial plants.
Proven experience in a lead engineering role, with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams and clients across different locations.
Valued but not required skills and experience:
Engineering consulting experience with strong client relationships in the MENA/CIS region.
Familiarity with a variety of control system vendors, including but not limited to Honeywell, Siemens, Yokogawa, Emerson, and Schneider Electric.
Knowledge of Saudi Electric standards is a plus.
Experience in proposal development is a plus.
Construction, commissioning, and start-up experience in instrumentation and controls is a plus.
UAE driver's license or willingness to obtain one
