Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Lead Instrumentation & Control Engineer to join our team for the ROO EPCm Feed Design project in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the I&C engineering design activities and ensuring that all technical parameters for the project are adhered to with an emphasis on delivery of technical quality. This position involves close collaboration with other engineering disciplines and working with both internal project teams and external stakeholders to deliver a comprehensive I&C solution for the project.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the I&C engineering design and implementation through various phases of the ROO EPCm project, ensuring compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
Develop and maintain I&C engineering documents such as instrument datasheets, index, IO schedule, Control narrative, Safety requirement specification, RFQ, TBE, Site survey SOW, Control system modification SOW and drawings, such as wiring diagrams, loop diagram, installation details, Location layout drawings, Instrument hook up, Control room layout drawing, level sketch diagram,
Perform and review calculations for system sizing and design, including control valve sizing, flow element sizing, and relief valve sizing.
Specify and procure instrumentation, control systems, and related equipment and liaise with Vendors post award to ensure successful supply of Vendor design documentation and equipment according to contractual requirements inc. technical review of Vendor engineering and design deliverables.
Coordinate with other disciplines such as process, mechanical, piping, and electrical to ensure an integrated design approach and advocate for an integrated team approach to projects.
Participate in design reviews, HAZID, HAZOP studies, and SIL assessments to identify and mitigate potential risk, plot plan review, Constructability review and 3D model review meeting .
Liaise with clients, vendors, and contractors to ensure design specifications are met and to resolve any technical issues that may arise.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior I&C engineers and designers on the team.
Prepare and manage the I&C engineering budget and schedule, ensuring that project milestones are met.
Stay updated with the latest technological advancements and regulatory changes in the field of I&C engineering.
Responsible to attend weekly progress meeting, Client meeting, input to project team as and when required, prepare EQY, TQY and responses to SQYs etc.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
A minimum of 18 years of I&C engineering experience, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
Proven experience in FEED projects, with a solid understanding of EPCM contracts.
Familiarity with international codes and standards related to I&C engineering.
Strong knowledge of DCS, SIS, PLC, SCADA, and field instrumentation.
Proficiency in I&C software tools and applications.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is an advantage.
