DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs the following activities alone or with assistance of other engineers:
Design of concrete structures such as foundations for structure and equipment, tank foundations, retaining walls, pile foundation, dynamically loaded foundations such as compressors and pumps, underground pits, low-rise buildings, culverts, fences, boundary walls, sewer system, E&I trenches and underground services. Structural evaluation of existing structures and spare capacity and mitigation measures for unfit structures and foundations. Design blast resistant / resilient buildings. Preparation of basis of design and construction specifications such as concrete / steel structures / earth works / grouting / protective painting. Evaluation of geotechnical parameters and analyzing geotechnical problems including slope stability, plate bearing tests, soil replacement, underground cavities. Perform dynamic analysis for dynamically loaded structures. Preparation of scope of works as well as offers bid evaluations covering civil construction, Topographical and Underground Detection surveying, laser survey, geotechnical investigation, transportation, steel fabrication, buildings as EPC. Preparation of structural steel materials requisition with all attachments including technical bid evaluation of offers. Performing site visits and detailed surveys of existing facilities. Providing all necessary input to draftsmen and verifying drawings. Design of gravity drainage systems. Perform 3D model review. Design of roads and paving. Produce civil general arrangement drawings satisfying other disciplines' requirements without any mismatches. Perform modifications to existing facilities/brown field jobs. Prepare technical procedures/best practices/lessons learnt. Respond to client comments while protecting company interests. Perform interface between software for easy transfer of 3D MODEL/data. Follow company engineering standards. Skills Required MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
B.S. Civil Engineering, preferably with Master degree in Civil-Structural Engineering from a well-recognized university. Strong technical background in structural analysis and design (concrete and steel), materials, geotechnical engineering. Knowledge of oil and gas industry projects setup as a whole. Familiar with international standards such as American, British, and EUROPEAN. Strong knowledge of state of the art software. Good supervisory skills. Good usage and familiarity of state of the art design software, including 3D modeling, design software, fabrication software, and data transfer among them. Conversant with Microsoft Office software. Capable of working in a state of the art engineering office for an EPC contractor where quality deliverables have to be issued in a short time. Good command of technical writing including written and spoken English languages. 15 years of experience in design and detailing, out of which a minimum of 10 years experience in oil and gas / industrial type structures. Additional Responsibilities:
Review of whole tender documentation and scope of work for all disciplines, identify civil scope even for items not mentioned specifically as civil. Provides tender estimated quantities and manhour estimates. Prepares list of deliverables. Provides man-hour estimates. Performs FEED verification. Raises queries to client during tender and afterwards. Provides qualifications/clarifications during tender stage. Provides risk register for civil items. Provides input to planning package. Provides progress reports on deliverables under his responsibilities and provides explanation to any relevant queries. Writes technical reports and correspondence. Controls work progress and quantities. Provides supervision to Engineering subcontractors including review of deliverables, interface meetings, etc. #J-18808-Ljbffr
