Lead Civil Design Engineer (Drainage Design)**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced **Lead Civil Design Engineer** specializing in Drainage Design to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in water engineering, with a focus on surface and groundwater systems, collection systems, and drainage (pipeline/tunnel) systems. This role requires a professional with significant experience in leading technical project delivery and supporting project management functions for large-scale projects in the water sector.

**What You'll be Doing:**

+ Lead the design and development of drainage systems, including surface and groundwater systems, collection systems, and pipeline/tunnel systems.

+ Oversee and manage the technical aspects of large-scale water engineering projects from inception to completion.

+ Act as the primary technical authority on drainage design projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

+ Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project delivery and integration of design solutions.

+ Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.

+ Prepare and review technical reports, design calculations, drawings, and specifications.

+ Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.

+ Serve as the acting Project Manager for various projects/programmes, coordinating with clients, stakeholders, and contractors.

+ Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.

**What Required Skills You'll Bring:**

+ A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from a reputable institution. A Master's degree is preferred.

+ Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Professional Engineer (PE) status from a recognized professional institution.

+ A minimum of 18 years of demonstrable relevant design and project experience in the water sector.

+ Professional Project Management status, such as PMP, is desirable.

+ Extensive experience in the design and delivery of drainage systems, including surface and groundwater systems, collection systems, and pipeline/tunnel systems.

+ Proven track record of leading technical project delivery for large-scale water engineering projects.

+ Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

+ Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

+ Proficiency in relevant design software and tools.
