: Land Surveyor
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Land Surveyor to conduct field surveys, prepare precise measurements, and provide critical data to support construction, land development, and engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of surveying techniques, tools, and regulations, as well as experience in analyzing and preparing reports and maps.
Key Responsibilities:
• Field Surveys and Data Collection:
• Conduct land surveys for construction, topography, boundary marking, and property delineation.
• Utilize survey equipment such as total stations, GPS, and levels to collect accurate data.
• Establish reference points and benchmarks for project layouts.
• Data Analysis and Reporting:
• Analyze field data to prepare detailed maps, charts, and survey reports.
• Use computer-aided design (CAD) software and geographic information systems (GIS) for data processing and visualization.
• Verify accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations.
• Boundary and Legal Compliance:
• Interpret legal documents, including deeds, plats, and property records, to establish land boundaries.
• Ensure that surveys adhere to local, state, and national regulations and standards.
• Resolve discrepancies in survey results or boundary disputes as needed.
• Coordination with Project Teams:
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to provide survey data and support project planning.
• Communicate findings and technical information effectively to stakeholders.
• Adjust survey plans and data based on project requirements or field conditions.
• Equipment Maintenance and Safety:
• Maintain and calibrate survey equipment to ensure accuracy.
• Follow safety protocols during fieldwork to minimize risks.
Requirements:
• Education:
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience:
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in land surveying, preferably in construction or infrastructure projects.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency with survey equipment such as GPS, total stations, and digital levels.
• Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D) and GIS tools.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills for calculations and data analysis.
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certification as a Licensed Surveyor or equivalent accreditation.
• Experience with construction staking and as-built surveys.
• Knowledge of drone surveying and photogrammetry is an added advantage.
