Job Description

The Land Surveyor is responsible for collecting data, accurate measurement and mapping of the land where steel structures or components will be fabricated, installed, or built.

Key Responsibilities:

• Site Surveys and Mapping :
• Conduct field surveys to gather precise measurements of land, topography, and existing structures to support steel fabrication projects.
• Create detailed site plans and maps for construction and fabrication, ensuring they align with design specifications.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Design Teams :
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to understand project specifications, site conditions, and layout requirements.
• Assist in converting design and construction drawings into measurable land data for use in the fabrication process.
• Accuracy and Precision in Measurements :
• Use specialized surveying equipment (such as total stations, GPS, and laser scanners) to measure distances, angles, and elevations.
• Ensure all measurements are accurate and comply with industry standards, building codes, and legal regulations.
• Data Analysis and Reporting :
• Analyze survey data and generate reports, including topographical maps, boundary surveys, and elevation drawings.
• Provide feedback on potential site issues or challenges that may affect the steel fabrication process.
• Site Preparation and Coordination :
• Assist in the planning and preparation of the site for the installation of steel components, including verifying the location of steel structures before construction begins.
• Monitor the ongoing alignment of fabricated steel pieces during the installation phase.
• Legal and Regulatory Compliance :
• Ensure surveys and site measurements adhere to local zoning laws, construction permits, and environmental regulations.
• Provide required documentation and data for regulatory compliance purposes.
• Troubleshooting and Problem Solving :
• Identify discrepancies or issues in land measurements and address them before fabrication or construction begins to prevent errors during steel assembly.
• Work closely with the fabrication team to ensure any changes in the site conditions are noted and managed.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of surveying experience in a reputable steel fabrication company.
• Skills: Knowledge of steel fabrication processes and Proficiency in surveying tools (total stations, GPS systems) and software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
• Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret and prepare maps, drawings, and legal documents.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Work Environment :

• The role will require both office-based tasks (such as drafting plans and reports) and field-based activities, often involving site visits to measure and inspect land conditions. The job can be physically demanding and may require working in various weather conditions, depending on the site location.

This position is critical in ensuring that steel components are fabricated and installed correctly, meeting design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED4,500.00 per month

Experience:

• Land surveyor: 2 years (Preferred)
