Additionally, we operate an efficient emergency departmentJob Profile:The Lactation Consultant provides immediate postpartum support to new mothers to initiate and establish breastfeeding successfully. The role focuses on hands-on support, education, and addressing any breastfeeding challenges during the hospital stay.1. General Responsibilities:Assessment and Care Planning:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of breastfeeding mothers and infants to identify any challenges or concerns, such as latch difficulties, low milk supply, or nipple pain.
  • Develop individualized care plans to address specific breastfeeding issues and support maternal and infant needs.
  • Monitor the progress of mothers and infants, adjusting care plans as needed to ensure successful breastfeeding.
Education and Staff Development:
  • Conduct training sessions and in-service education for staff on new procedures, protocols, and equipment.
  • Identify educational needs and develop in-service training sessions and continuing education opportunities.
Quality and Safety:
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and operational processes.
  • Monitor and analyze clinical outcomes, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Implement strategies to reduce adverse events and enhance patient safety.
Community Outreach and Advocacy:
  • Participate in community education programs, support groups, and workshops to promote breastfeeding awareness and education.
  • Advocate for breastfeeding-friendly policies and practices in the community and within healthcare settings.
Education requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s in Nursing
  • Diploma in Nursing
Job Specifications:Education Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing holding a BSc Nursing /Diploma of Nursing, not less than 4 years study duration or Midwifery.
  • Certified as an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
  • Current license in country of origin
  • UAE DHA License
Professional Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of continuous nursing/midwifery experience in UAE or from home country.
  • Minimum 3 years\' experience in maternal and child health or a related field.
  • Previous overseas experience is advantage but not required
Licensure/Certification:
  • Current RN/MW license from a recognized accredited professional body
  • Has a valid BLS, ACLS, NRP certification
