Overall Objective of the Job : \xe2\x96\xaa Prepare all materials (lab equipment, consumable, and etc) for laboratory sessions. \xe2\x96\xaa Research, prepare tender materials, order, and setup/coordinate commission of new equipment. \xe2\x96\xaa Setup, maintaining, and calibrate equipment according to vendor\xe2\x80\x99s or international standard \xe2\x96\xaa Ensure proper operation of all equipment operate by performing preventive, and corrective maintenance. \xe2\x96\xaa Plan, order, and keep track of consumable. \xe2\x96\xaa Assist faculty, and students in courses relevant to the laboratory. \xe2\x96\xaa Serve as academic advisor to students. Tasks and Responsibilities: \xe2\x96\xaa Develop, and update Health and Safety (HS) procedures for all laboratories to meet university\xe2\x80\x99s HS standards. \xe2\x96\xaa Enforce university\xe2\x80\x99s HS standards for all activities related to the laboratories. \xe2\x96\xaa Monitor and maintains an organized, clean and safe working environment in lab and ensures compliance with work legal, health and safety standards. \xe2\x96\xaa Enforce laboratory safety regulations. \xe2\x96\xaa Prepare, explain and perform practical experiments to students in courses related to the lab. \xe2\x96\xaa Preparing laboratory manuals and standard laboratory procedures under faculty supervision. \xe2\x96\xaa Setup equipment for each laboratory session in coordination with laboratory instructor. \xe2\x96\xaa Supervise and assist students working in projects such as, but are not limited to, GPs, SUREs, and etc. \xe2\x96\xaa Monitor, and control access to and use of all departmental laboratories and equipment. \xe2\x96\xaa Train students, researchers and faculties to use machines, instruments and equipment. \xe2\x96\xaa Provide technical support for students and researchers in designing and manufacturing for course and research projects. \xe2\x96\xaa Conduct Safety Induction for first-time users of various Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department laboratories. \xe2\x96\xaa Purchase all lab needs and coordinate for spare parts or maintenance needs with the equipment supplier. \xe2\x96\xaa Proctoring of Undergraduate and Graduate level examinations. \xe2\x96\xaa Advise students on their study plans using DegreeWorks. Organizational Relationships & Communications : \xe2\x96\xaa To coordinate the design and development of laboratories, courses and graduation projects. \xe2\x96\xaa Coordinate with faculty, and students on lab exercises. \xe2\x96\xaa Provide technical support to students, faculties, researchers and dept. staff members. \xe2\x96\xaa To coordinate with other departments\xe2\x80\x99 professionals concerning requirement of manufacturing needs, e.g. projects and equipment. \xe2\x96\xaa Liaison with vendors and suppliers for tools and machineries procurement.Minimum Qualification\xe2\x96\xaa Bachelor\'s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a closely related area.Preferred Qualification
