Job Purpose:
To manage, supervise, and enhance laboratory operations, ensuring all tests and procedures comply with regulatory standards, customer requirements, and industry best practices. The Laboratory Manager is responsible for maintaining high-quality standards in testing lubricants and chemicals, overseeing research and development, and contributing to product innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:Laboratory Operations:
• Oversee daily laboratory activities to ensure accurate, reliable, and timely results.
• Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality control protocols.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO, ASTM, etc.) and regulations related to lubricant and chemical testing.
• Manage laboratory equipment, including calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance schedules.
• Ensure a safe and clean working environment adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
• Perform and supervise testing of lubricants, additives, and raw materials to ensure quality and performance.
• Analyze test results, troubleshoot product performance issues, and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead investigations of customer complaints and non-conformance reports related to product quality.
• Support R&D initiatives for product development and innovation.
• Collaborate with production, marketing, and technical teams to meet product specifications and market needs.
• Lead and train laboratory staff, ensuring technical competency and professional growth.
• Monitor team performance, set goals, and provide constructive feedback to ensure high productivity.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation within the team.
• Prepare and maintain detailed reports of test results, certifications, and regulatory submissions.
• Manage laboratory data using appropriate software and systems.
• Liaise with external agencies for audits, certifications, and technical evaluations.
Key Skills and Competencies:
• In-depth knowledge of lubricant and chemical testing methods, standards (ISO, ASTM, SAE, etc.), and formulation techniques.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
• Proficient in laboratory management software and MS Office applications.
• Effective communication and leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in the chemical industry.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years of laboratory experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role in the lubricants or chemical industry.
• Certifications (Preferred): Six Sigma, ISO Auditor, or any related quality certifications.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
• Accuracy and reliability of test results.
• Timely completion of product testing and certifications.
• Reduction in customer complaints and product non-conformities.
• Successful implementation of new product formulations and improvements.
• Compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: AED7,000.00 - AED8,000.00 per month
