Job Position Summary

This position, Under general supervision, performs routine tests in medical laboratory to provide data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease, ensuring validity and accuracy of test results.

Reports to: Laboratory Director

Essential Job Duties

i. Performs various clinical tests in biochemistry, hematology, clinical pathology, general microbiology and serology, using various lab analyzers.

ii. Performs the daily maintenance of the analyzers.

iii. Performs the daily quality control on all the analyzers.

iv. Runs the STAT samples and reports them in the HMS as per the STAT policy.

v. Informs the critical value/panic value as per the lab policy.

vi. Transcribes all the results in the HMS according to the TAT policy.

vii. Participates in the external quality control program.

viii. Collects blood from patients by venipuncture using the different types of collection tubes for different assays.

ix. Performs bleeding time and clotting time.

x. Collects throat swabs, nail scraping for fungus, urethral swabs.

xi. Performs other miscellaneous related duties as requested by the Supervisor.

xii. Performs duties in compliance with hospital policy and safety standards.

xiii. Discards liquid and solid waste generated by machines as per the laboratory waste policy.

xiv. Takes part in HAAD, EHSMS, Quality, FMS, Fire & Safety, PCI, and ISO 15189 trainings.

xv. Participates in Continuing Medical Education activities (CME).

RequirementsEducation and Experience

Bachelor / Masters Degree in Medical laboratory Technology

Minimum Two (2) years experience in Medical Laboratories.

License to practice by HAAD.

Excellent command of oral and written English; Arabic desirable but not mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

Special consideration will be given to applicants with Certifications in Quality especially ISO 15189 standards.

Working knowledge of computer and analytical software programs sufficient for evaluation of electronic data, data interpretation, and report development.

Ability to conduct and report quality assurance audits and reviews to determine compliance status and recommend corrective action plans.

Pay: AED1,500.00 - AED4,000.00 per month
