The Laboratory Operations Manager is responsible for managing daily operations, ensuring testing procedures comply with standards (ASTM, ISO, etc.), leading a team, and overseeing quality control, safety, and client relationships. This role involves budgeting, resource management, and driving innovation in lubricant testing.
Key Responsibilities:
• Laboratory Operations: Oversee daily lab functions and maintain compliance with ASTM/ISO standards.Develop and update SOPs for testing, calibration, and safety.
• Team Management: Lead and manage lab personnel, ensuring proper training and workload distribution.
• Testing & Quality Control: Supervise lubricant testing (engine oils, greases, etc.), review test results, and manage lab accreditation.
• Equipment & Facility Maintenance: Ensure proper equipment maintenance and calibration, and manage repairs and procurement.
• Health, Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulations and hazardous materials guidelines.
• Client & Project Management: Liaise with clients, manage testing projects, and deliver technical expertise.
• Research & Development: Stay updated on industry trends, lead R&D initiatives, and improve testing methods.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze data, prepare reports, and ensure accurate documentation.
• Budgeting & Resource Management:
• Manage the lab budget, optimize resources, and ensure financial objectives are met.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field. A master's degree or higher is preferred.
Experience:
- At least 4-5 years of experience working in a laboratory environment, preferably in lubricants or petroleum products.
- Proven experience managing teams in a laboratory setting
