Role Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Lab Instructor to join our vibrant team. The Lab Instructor will be responsible for the effective management and operation of our science laboratories. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong background in scientific principles and laboratory practices, who can enhance the educational experience through hands-on support and instruction. Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and set up laboratory experiments, including arranging materials, equipment, and specimens.

Regularly inspect and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure proper functioning.

Conduct routine cleaning and sterilization of laboratory tools and surfaces to ensure a safe working environment.

Assist science teachers in planning and executing laboratory-based lessons and demonstrations.

Provide technical support and guidance to students during laboratory exercises, helping them understand and apply scientific concepts.

Demonstrate the correct use of laboratory equipment and techniques to students.

Implement and enforce strict safety protocols and procedures within the laboratory to ensure a safe environment for students and staff.

Conduct safety audits and ensure that all safety equipment, such as eye wash stations and fire extinguishers, is readily available and in good working order.

Educate students on laboratory safety practices and emergency procedures.

Monitor and manage laboratory supplies, including chemicals, reagents, and equipment.

Maintain an organized inventory system, ordering and replenishing materials as necessary.

Ensure that all chemicals and materials are stored properly and in compliance with safety regulations.

Maintain detailed records of laboratory activities, including experiment results, equipment usage, and maintenance schedules.

Prepare reports on laboratory operations, equipment status, and safety compliance as required by school administration.

Track and report any incidents or issues that arise in the laboratory setting.

Assist in developing engaging and interactive laboratory activities that stimulate students' interest in science.

Provide one-on-one support to students who require additional help or clarification during laboratory sessions.

Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment within the laboratory.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Science (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Physics) or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certification is a plus.

Previous experience working in a laboratory setting, particularly in an educational environment, is highly desirable.

Strong understanding of laboratory procedures, equipment, and safety protocols.

Proficiency in using and maintaining laboratory instruments and equipment.

Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and other staff members.
