Summary Description: As a Steward you are responsible to clean food processing facilities, storage rooms, walk in fridge's, kitchen utensils, immediate corridors and holding areas as well as the operation equipment. A)Responsibilities and Duties: \xc2\xb7 Cleans kitchen walls and floors in accordance with regular cleaning schedules \xc2\xb7 Inspects shelving and surrounding areas and ensures these are safe and dry at all times to prevent slipping. \xc2\xb7 Cleans/Washes all cooking utensils per required standards. \xc2\xb7 Stacks washed utensils in the appropriate racks/trolleys for easier access. \xc2\xb7 Regularly inspects and cleans stacking areas to keep these neat and tidy. \xc2\xb7 After each wash, polishes equipment (e.g., chaffing dish, silver trays, etc.), applying appropriate chemicals and procedures. \xc2\xb7 Washes and polishes needed equipment and utensils in preparation for setting up. \xc2\xb7 Issues equipment needed for set-up, per request or event order. \xc2\xb7 Estimates that items / equipment issued to ensure that these are of the necessary quantity. \xc2\xb7 Stacks all equipment issued on proper trolley or racks for easier access as well as prevention of breakage. \xc2\xb7 Uses chemicals and detergents only in accordance with authorized uses, to prevent damage, or risk to safety and health. \xc2\xb7 Complies with all safety measures while using chemicals. \xc2\xb7 Ensures that chinaware is stacked according to size. \xc2\xb7 Ensures that right glass size falls under right size. \xc2\xb7 Ensures glasses are in appropriate racks. \xc2\xb7 Ensures that dishwashing and other machines used in stewarding are kept in working condition by following appropriate procedures in the use of said machines. \xc2\xb7 Performs other duties as may be required by management from time to time. \xc2\xb7 Maintains good relationships with colleagues and contributes to team spirit. \xc2\xb7 Cooperates and coordinates with colleagues whenever necessary. \xc2\xb7 Interacts with other departments to provide additional or specialized guest services. \xc2\xb7 Maintains clean and orderly work surroundings. \xc2\xb7 Participates in activities concerning the protection of the environment. \xc2\xb7 Implements the identified Best Practices in the work area.
