Job Summary:

Sweet Greens Restaurant is seeking a diligent and reliable Kitchen Steward to join our dynamic team. The Kitchen Steward will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, ensuring all kitchen areas and equipment are sanitized, and supporting kitchen staff with their daily tasks. This position is vital for maintaining the high standards of hygiene and efficiency in our kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cleaning and Sanitation:
• Wash, sanitize, and store dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and other kitchen equipment.
• Ensure all kitchen surfaces, floors, and walls are clean and sanitized.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including refrigeration and storage spaces.
• Waste Management:
• Dispose of trash and waste materials in a timely and sanitary manner.
• Recycle appropriate materials and ensure compliance with waste management protocols.
• Support Kitchen Operations:
• Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
• Refill kitchen supplies and restock items as needed.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment is in proper working order and report any malfunctions to the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
• Safety Compliance:
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and guidelines.
• Use proper protective equipment and safe practices to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Participate in regular safety training and meetings.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work effectively as part of the kitchen team, maintaining a positive and cooperative attitude.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of basic kitchen sanitation and safety procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Work Environment:

• The position requires standing for long periods and working in a hot, humid environment.
• Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant's operating hours.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED1,200.00 - AED1,500.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Abu Dhabi: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
