POSITIONKitchen Assistant - Commis ChefLOCATIONAbu Dhabi UAE The Client will arrange the work visa and relocation if not localPURPOSE OF THE POSITIONThe Kitchen Assistant - Commis Chef will support the Private Chef in preparing meals for the VIP family while ensuring the highest standards of kitchen hygiene and equipment sanitation in compliance with HACCP regulations. This role also includes maintaining inventory, performing stock rotation, and assisting in the smooth operation of the kitchen.QUALIFICATIONS / LICENSES / SKILLS
Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts, Food Preparation, or a related field (preferred)
Previous experience as a Kitchen Assistant, Commis Chef, or similar role in a high-end hotel, fine dining restaurant, or private household
Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards (HACCP certification is an advantage)
Fluent in English
Basic knowledge of food preparation, cutting techniques, and cooking methods
Understanding of kitchen operations, stock rotation, and inventory management
Ability to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to follow instructions and adapt to a fast-paced kitchen environment
Attention to detail and commitment to food quality and presentation
Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills under the guidance of senior chefs
Nutritional training highly regarded
DUTIES
Assist the Private Chef in preparing fresh, nutritious, and high-quality meals according to the familys preferences and dietary requirements.
Wash, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients for daily meals, snacks, and beverages.
Assist in cooking and plating dishes to a high standard.
Help in making fresh juices, smoothies, and light meals as required.
Support the preparation of meals for children, ensuring balanced nutrition and appealing presentation.
Assist in meal preparation for formal dinners, social gatherings, and special events.
Help with buffet setup, plating, and service during family and guest events.
Work efficiently under pressure to meet high standards for VIP guests.
Maintain kitchen cleanliness, following HACCP food safety standards.
Wash dishes, sanitize surfaces, and ensure all kitchen tools and appliances are properly cleaned and stored.
Follow proper food handling, storage, and labeling practices.
Ensure a hygienic and well-organized work environment at all times.
Assist in checking and organizing kitchen supplies, ensuring stock rotation and proper storage.
Monitor ingredient freshness and report any shortages or required restocking.
Help receive and store fresh produce, meats, seafood, and other perishable items.
Work closely with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Follow instructions precisely to maintain consistency in meal preparation.
Adapt to last-minute changes in meal plans, dietary needs, or special requests.
