Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and completion of traffic signal installation projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards while ensuring safety and compliance with applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Project Planning and Coordination:
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Identify project requirements, resources, and potential risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Technical Oversight:
• Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of traffic signals, including hardware, software, and integration with Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS).
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, local regulations, and client specifications.
• Review and approve technical documentation, including drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
• Team Management:
• Lead and manage a team of engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
• Allocate resources effectively and ensure team members are clear on roles and responsibilities.
• Conduct regular progress meetings to address challenges and align project goals.
• Quality Assurance and Safety:
• Implement and monitor quality control processes to ensure high standards of workmanship.
• Enforce adherence to safety protocols and conduct regular site inspections to ensure a safe working environment.
• Stakeholder Communication:
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients and consultants, providing updates on project progress and addressing concerns promptly.
• Prepare and present regular project status reports, including cost analysis, progress updates, and risk assessments.
• Procurement and Documentation:
• Oversee procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery of long-lead items.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, approvals, change orders, and handover documents.
• Handover and Commissioning:
• Ensure successful testing and commissioning of traffic signals and related systems.
• Manage the handover process, including final inspections, documentation submission, and client sign-off.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in managing traffic signal or ITS-related projects.
• Technical Knowledge:
• Strong understanding of traffic signal systems, including controllers, detectors, and communication networks.
• Familiarity with adaptive traffic control systems (e.g., SCOOT, SCATS) is a plus.
• Project Management Skills:
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
• Soft Skills:
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Certifications: PMP certification is preferred but not mandatory.
Other Requirements:
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
• Knowledge of local traffic regulations and standards.
• Commitment to maintaining high safety and ethical standards.
