As a Junior Legal Counsel at the Smiths Detection division, you will be working with our EMEA legal team, and your expertise will be a cornerstone for the success of the team. In this multifaceted role, you will be entrusted with a wide array of legal, commercial, and compliance responsibilities. Duties & Responsibilities
Commercial Contracts
Primary focus on commercial contracting which entails review, reporting and negotiation with customers of third-party sales contracts, which necessitate robust understanding of Company\xe2\x80\x99s preferred terms and close coordination with internal stakeholders such as sales.
Review and negotiate other contracts as needed including service agreements, product loan and testing agreements, sourcing contracts, lease agreements as well as non-disclosure agreements.
Assisting with drafting, executing, and renewing distribution agreements across the EMEA region, including co-ordination of the distributor due diligence reviews as per company policy.
Contracts Management
Supporting the Legal team with the implementation of a contract management tool.
Assist with training for business users.
Assist with development and implementation of new contract templates.
Responsible for the migration of the existing contracts archive and archiving of additional contracts going forward.
Departmental matters
Initiate due diligence searches in a licensed external tool and evaluate search reports.
Provide support for other divisional legal tools and applications, such as the managing and refreshing the legal department\xe2\x80\x99s intranet and SharePoint tools.

The Individual
Educational Background: A law degree from an accredited university or an equivalent legal qualification.
Professional Experience: A minimum of 2+ years of PQE (Post-Qualified Experience) is required, which should include experience in law firms and/or in-house legal departments. Having a combination of law firm and in-house experience is a plus.
Contract Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in commercial contract drafting and negotiation, showcasing your ability to navigate complex contractual arrangements effectively.
Proactive Approach: A dynamic, energetic, and positive \'can do\' attitude, illustrating your dedication to tackling challenges head-on and delivering results.
Stakeholder Collaboration: A proven ability to work harmoniously with multiple stakeholders within a corporate environment, as teamwork and coordination are paramount in this role.
Language Skills:
Full fluency (spoken and written) in both English and French is essential, given the diverse operational landscape of the EMEA region.
Any other language skills would be considered a valuable asset, enhancing your ability to engage with a broader range of stakeholders.
