Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for a Junior Finance Analyst to join our agile team in the Middle East region. In this role you will be based in Doha, supporting mainly our existing operations in Qatar, and supporting development in other ME operations. In this role, you will act as business partner to the Middle East Finance Manager and interacting on regular basis with CAE International teams. The role provides excellent opportunity for individuals with pro-active thinking and willingness to develop skills in various finance areas.

Key Tasks

Participate in the month-end close process in Oracle R12, HFM

Participate in providing accounting analysis support to the business units on various accounting issues

Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet and cash flow variance analysis;

Interact with the different groups (Tax, Treasury, internal audit, corporate) to respond to ad hoc inquiries

Consult on new or changing business transactions to ensure proper accounting treatment consistent with the global business

Ensure all standard processes and policy are applied and all transactions are correctly recorded

Participate in special projects in collaboration with other teams

Participate in the financial forecasting and financial performance analysis for ME subregion

Participate in the establishment of the annual budget

Maintain and develop financial models and identify, document and communicate risks and business opportunities related to forecasts

Be responsible for the preparation of various financial reports and presentations for senior management.

Maintain financial forecasts, reports and KPI tracking

Participate in preparation of local tax returns

Any other tasks or duties as agreed with Finance Manager

Qualifications and experience

The ideal candidate will hold a professional accountancy qualification (e.g. ACCA or CIMA or similar certification) and have preferably 1 to 3 years' experience in a financial analyst role.

Have experience of preparing and consolidating of accurate and timely monthly and quarterly financial reports.

Have experience or managing the month-end close process in Oracle R12, HFM

Strong knowledge and experience in management and finance skills.

Ability to implement "Best Practice" in an expanding business.

Ability to communicate effectively with senior management.

Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise.

Ability to understand complex accounting and financial issues and provide recommendations on accounting treatment to corporate and local management.

Knowledge of Middle East culture and specifics will be a plus.

Proficient Microsoft skills (Excel, Outlook, Word, Project).

Detail Oriented.

Ability to work independently.

Able to work in team environment.

Fluency in English
