The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our dynamic advertising and marketing agency, which primarily serves government clients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records in Zoho Books, managing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring compliance with IFRS's, and overseeing VAT filing. The role requires excellent communication skills to liaise with internal teams, vendors, and all other stakeholders. Additionally, the Junior Accountant will monitor the finance calendar to track key renewal and deadline dates. Key Responsibilities: Accounting Data Entry & Maintenance - Accurately and timeously record all financial transactions. Knowledge and experience using Zoho Books is a must. - Maintain general ledger accounts, perform reconciliations, and ensure data accuracy. - Process invoices, receipts, and payments, ensuring proper documentation for each transaction. - Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Accounts Payable & Receivable Management - Track and process vendor invoices, ensuring timely payments. - Monitor outstanding receivables, follow up on overdue payments, and generate SOA's. - Maintain relationships with suppliers and ensure compliance with contractual payment terms. - Reconcile vendor and customer accounts, resolving discrepancies. VAT Filing & Compliance - Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with UAE tax regulations. - Ensure timely and accurate VAT filings to avoid penalties. - Stay updated on changes in VAT laws and implement necessary adjustments. - Assist with tax documentation and audits related to VAT. Compliance & Reporting - Ensure all financial records adhere to IFRS and relevant government regulations. - Assist with tax filings and financial audits. - Support the preparation of financial statements and compliance reports. Liaison with Key Stakeholders - Work closely with the Client Service Team to ensure smooth financial transactions with all clients. - Coordinate with clients regarding payments and compliance requirements where necessary. - Communicate with external auditors, banks, and other stakeholders as needed. Finance Calendar Monitoring - Track and manage key financial deadlines, including VAT filing, license renewals, and compliance reporting. - Ensure timely submission of financial documents and renewals to relevant authorities. - Maintain reminders and follow-ups for upcoming finance-related deadlines. Process Improvement & Support - Assist in streamlining accounting processes and ensuring best practices in financial management. - Provide support during financial audits, ensuring proper documentation is available. - Stay updated on new Zoho features and IFRS's to enhance efficiency.
