About the job Junior AccountantOur client is a leading global independent live entertainment group, established in 2018. They have recently expanded their operations to the Middle East, bringing world-class acts such as Justin Bieber, The Eagles, Guns N Roses, Jennifer Lopez, Elton John, Ed Sheeran and a lot more.They are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join the team. This role is a unique opportunity as the first in-house accountant, directly reporting to top management. Initially, you will be supported by an outsourced accounting firm, and will act as a bridge between the in-house team and the accounting firm, eventually taking on full accounting responsibilities.Key Responsibilities:
\xef\xbb\xbfAssist with the company yearly budget preparation, ledger and event profit & loss sheet to facilitate effective financial management.
Manage the Event payables process from recording the local purchase order, acceptance of invoice through to submission of payables list to CEO for approval
Processing of payment to vendors and recording the transaction for future VAT recoding & auditing
Manage the receivables invoicing for the events, ensuring all revenues have been accounted for and all recharges are completed in a timely manner following the Events
Review the Ledger on a regular basis with the Event Heads to ensure classifications of expense are accurate and in line with budget expectations
Prepare the Event Management Accounts and supporting variance analysis to provide financial and supporting information to the decision making process
Prepare month end accruals and prepayments in line with the accounting recognition of the Events
Manage the Event audit file that summarises all expenses incurred on the event for submission to external audit
Generate and present financial reports/presentations to various stakeholders.\xef\xbb\xbf
Prepare and submit local VAT & corporate tax filings as required.
Qualifications:
\xef\xbb\xbf1-2 years experience in a relevant accounting position in UAE
Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion and diplomacy
Outstanding Interpersonal skills, both written and verbally, Including the ability to communicate confidently and professionally across all levels of the business
The ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the business
Great attention to detail
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Quick decision-making skills
Strong work ethic with the ability to work unsupervised
Additional Information:
This is an individual contributor role.
Occasional weekend work may be required for on-site settlements, but only when required.
