Ensure vessel certifications are valid to prevent non-compliance failures.
Ensure vessels meet reporting requirements and proper documentation as per ISM, ISPS, and ISO 9001, including constant monitoring of drills and safety meeting reports.
Ensure ISM, ISPS, and ISO compliance with well-organized audit plans and efficient preparation to minimize non-conformities and observations.
Conduct internal audits according to the audit plan and as assigned by the HSEQ Head.
Maintain and update the Safety Management System (SMS) with continuous improvements for quality, accuracy, adequacy, and efficiency, and provide and develop new constructive ideas.
Assist in identifying risk assessments and environmental aspects/impacts for vessel operations.
Ensure all vessels comply with applicable legal and other requirements, raising corrective actions when necessary.
Brief shipboard senior officers before they join vessels on Safety Management Systems, company policies, vessel operations, and specific charterers requirements.
Act as an incident investigator if appointed to the Incident Investigation Team.
Serve as a member of the shore Emergency Response Team for the vessels in charge.
Control and update the Management of Change process, revising manuals and forms as needed.
Monitor the implementation of the Company PMS systems on vessels, ensuring timely attention and feedback for reports originating from the vessels in accordance with the Safety Management System.
Requirements:
5 years of sea-going experience preferred.
Good understanding, knowledge, and experience with ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL, marine operations, and ISO 9001.
Mandatory ISM/ISPS Internal Auditor training course certificate.
Certificate of Competency as Master preferred, or Chief Officer with substantial experience.
