A Joinery Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials, suppliers, and equipment required for joinery and carpentry projects. They ensure that the right materials are procured at the best price while maintaining quality and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement & Sourcing
Source and procure joinery materials such as timber, veneers, laminates, adhesives, hardware, and fittings.
Identify reliable suppliers and negotiate contracts for cost-effective purchasing.
Ensure materials meet project specifications, quality standards, and sustainability requirements.
2. Supplier & Vendor Management
Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and identify new vendors.
Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, price, and delivery timelines.
Obtain and compare quotations to ensure the best value for money.
3. Cost & Budget Control
Monitor procurement costs and ensure purchases stay within budget.
Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and supplier agreements.
4. Inventory & Logistics Management
Coordinate material deliveries to ensure they arrive on time and in good condition.
Work closely with warehouse and site teams to track inventory levels.
Reduce material wastage by optimizing stock control.
5. Compliance & Documentation
Ensure procurement processes comply with company policies and industry regulations.
Prepare purchase orders, contracts, and procurement reports.
Address any issues related to defective or delayed materials.
6. Coordination with Project Teams
Work closely with project managers, designers, and production teams to align procurement with project timelines.
Provide updates on material availability and delivery schedules.
Assist in selecting subcontractors for specialized joinery works.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Knowledge of joinery materials, carpentry processes, and woodworking techniques.
Experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
Proficiency in procurement software.
