Job Description

The Joinery Factory Manager oversees the daily operations of the joinery manufacturing facility, ensuring efficiency, quality, and timely delivery of joinery products. The role requires extensive knowledge of joinery processes, leadership skills, and a focus on optimizing production to support construction and client projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, and control all joinery manufacturing activities. Ensure production schedules are met and align with project timelines. Oversee the fabrication, assembly, and finishing processes for joinery products. Lead and manage factory staff, including supervisors, carpenters, machinists, and other personnel. Set performance standards and conduct regular evaluations. Provide training and mentorship to improve team skills and efficiency. Implement and maintain quality control processes to deliver high-standard products. Conduct inspections to ensure all production complies with specifications and requirements. Address and resolve any production defects or issues. Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and consumables. Coordinate with procurement for timely supply of materials and tools. Ensure optimal utilization of resources to minimize waste and reduce costs. Enforce safety standards and practices within the factory. Conduct regular risk assessments and safety drills. Ensure all equipment and machinery are well-maintained and safely operated. Liaise with project teams, designers, and clients to ensure product specifications are met. Collaborate with site teams to coordinate delivery and installation of joinery products. Prepare and present reports on production status, challenges, and improvements. Identify opportunities for improving manufacturing processes and factory efficiency. Introduce new technologies or methods to enhance productivity and product quality. Monitor market trends and advancements in joinery to maintain competitive standards.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Wood Technology, or related field preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 15-20 years in joinery production, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.

Technical Expertise:

Comprehensive knowledge of joinery processes, machinery, materials, and finishes.

Leadership Skills:

Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a factory setting.

Project Management:

Strong organizational and planning skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Communication:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for internal coordination and client interactions.

Problem-Solving:

Ability to address challenges efficiently and implement practical solutions.

Health & Safety:

In-depth knowledge of safety protocols and compliance requirements.

Working Conditions:

Based in the factory, with occasional site visits as required. May involve extended hours to meet production deadlines.
