Accurately prepare cost estimates for joinery projects, including materials, labor, and time.
Review technical drawings, specifications, and documents to prepare detailed and accurate cost breakdowns.
Analyze project requirements to ensure all materials, tools, and manpower are considered in the estimates.
Bill of Quantities (BOQ):
Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for joinery works, ensuring accurate material quantities and specifications.
Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure correct material selections and quantities are sourced.
Tendering and Bidding:
Support the tendering process by providing accurate pricing for tenders.
Submit pricing information, track bid submissions, and follow up with clients or project managers as needed.
Site Visits & Measurements:
Conduct site surveys and measure on-site to verify and validate quantities, dimensions, and the scope of work.
Work closely with architects, designers, and contractors to ensure a clear understanding of the project's requirements.
Collaboration:
Liaise with project managers, designers, and clients to provide updated estimates, material details, and timeline adjustments.
Support project planning by adjusting estimates based on any scope changes or unforeseen project conditions.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of estimates, calculations, and correspondence for future reference or audit.
Provide accurate reports for management, showing cost estimates and variance reports as required.
Cost Control:
Track the cost performance of ongoing projects, comparing actual spend to estimates and advising management of discrepancies.
Suggest cost-saving measures while ensuring the quality of the finished product is not compromised.
Requirements:
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in joinery estimation, fit-out, or interior design-related projects.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in joinery materials, construction methods, and estimation software (e.g., Bluebeam, AutoCAD, MS Excel).
Educational Qualifications:
A degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Certification in estimating is a plus.
Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of joinery works, including wood types, finishes, hardware, and construction processes.
Communication Skills:
Strong communication and negotiation skills to collaborate with clients, suppliers, and team members.
Attention to Detail:
Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing estimates and BOQs.
Desirable Skills:
Knowledge of local Dubai construction codes and regulations.
Familiarity with the UAE market and supplier network.
Fluency in English (Arabic proficiency is a plus).
