We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Joinery Estimator to join our team. The Joinery Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of materials and labor for various joinery projects, including but not limited to cabinets, doors, windows, and furniture. The ideal candidate will have strong mathematical skills, a deep understanding of construction methods and materials, and the ability to effectively communicate with clients, suppliers, and project stakeholders. - Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to understand the scope of work.
- Conduct site visits as necessary to gather additional information and assess project requirements.
- Production process cycle
- Calculate quantities of wood, hardware, and other materials needed for each project based on measurements and specificacurate material take-offs.
- Determine the cost of materials based on current market prices and supplier quotations.
- Estimate labor costs based on project complexity and required skill level.
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and budgets for each project.
- Prepare comprehensive bids and cost proposals for clients, ensuring they are submitted in a timely manner.
- Review bid documents and contracts to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and availability of materials and services.
- Negotiate favorable terms and pricing agreements with vendors to optimize project costs.
- Monitor project budgets throughout the duration of each project.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and propose alternative solutions when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of project estimates, contracts, change orders, and correspondence with clients and suppliers.
- Ensure all documentation is organized and readily accessible for reference
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, contractors, and clients to address any concerns or changes in project requirements.
- Provide regular updates on project costs and progress to relevant stakeholders.
- Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveryor, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- willing to be relocated in Umm Al Quwain.
- Proven experience as a joinery estimator or similar role.
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
- Certification in Estimating or Construction Management.
- Experience with joinery and woodworking techniques.
- Knowledge of sustainable building practices and materials.
