Duties and Responsibilities of a Joinery Draftsman:
• Create Detailed Drawings and Plans:
• Develop precise technical drawings for joinery work, including windows, doors, cabinets, staircases, and other wood-based components.
• Use CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software to generate 2D and 3D drawings.
• Understand and Interpret Client Requirements:
• Work closely with clients, architects, and designers to understand the specific needs and preferences for custom joinery pieces.
• Ensure that designs meet the client's specifications, standards, and building regulations.
• Collaborate with Engineers and Project Managers:
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other construction professionals to ensure accurate implementation of the design.
• Provide detailed material specifications and dimensions for accurate construction.
• Prepare Bills of Materials:
• List and specify the materials required for the joinery work.
• Ensure the materials are sourced and delivered as per the design.
• Ensure Quality Standards and Safety Compliance:
• Make sure that all drawings adhere to quality standards, industry regulations, and safety guidelines.
• Design joinery that is structurally sound and safe for use.
• Modify and Revise Designs:
• Revise and update drawings as needed based on client feedback or changes in project requirements.
• Troubleshoot design issues and come up with effective solutions.
• Site Visits (if required):
• Occasionally visit construction sites to verify measurements, materials, and assess how designs are being implemented.
• Liaise with site workers to address any issues or clarifications during the installation phase.
• Maintain Documentation and Records:
• Keep records of design drafts, final designs, project updates, and any changes made.
• Organize and archive drawings for future reference or maintenance.
• Estimate Costs and Timeframes:
• Provide estimated costs and timeframes for the production and installation of joinery pieces.
• Assist in budgeting and scheduling the project timeline.
• Stay Updated with Industry Trends:
• Keep up to date with new trends, materials, and techniques in joinery and woodworking to improve designs.
Requirements:
-Minimum 3/4 years experience in the same field is a must.
-Bachelors Degree
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: AED3,500\.00 - AED4,000\.00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
• Sharjah: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
