Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented

Joinery and Fitout Draftsman

to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in producing precise technical drawings for joinery and fitout projects, working closely with architects, designers, and construction teams to ensure high-quality results. This role requires proficiency in CAD software, a strong understanding of joinery and fitout processes, and a keen eye for design and detail.

Key Responsibilities:

Drafting and Design:

Produce detailed technical drawings for joinery and fitout projects, including cabinetry, custom furniture, and other woodwork. Create plans for interior fitouts such as retail spaces, offices, kitchens, and bathrooms. Work closely with architects, designers, and project managers to ensure design specifications are met.

CAD Software Utilization:

Use CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks) to create accurate 2D and 3D drawings of joinery elements. Revise and update drawings based on client feedback, project changes, or construction team input.

Material Specifications:

Advise on appropriate materials for each project, considering aesthetic, functional, and budgetary constraints. Create detailed material schedules for construction, including wood types, finishes, and hardware.

Project Coordination:

Assist with the coordination of project timelines and ensure designs are completed on time. Collaborate with other departments (e.g., production, installation teams) to ensure designs are feasible and practical for manufacturing.

Quality Control:

Ensure all designs meet industry standards, building codes, and client requirements. Perform checks and reviews of final drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Client Interaction:

Communicate with clients to understand their design needs and preferences. Provide recommendations for materials, finishes, and layouts based on client specifications and budget.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree or certification in Drafting, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field (preferred).

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Draftsman in the joinery, fitout, or interior design industry. Proven experience with CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks.
