Job Summary: The IVF Nurse with OB/GYN knowledge will provide comprehensive care and support to patients undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments. This role requires a strong understanding of both IVF procedures and OB/GYN principles to effectively assist with patient management, treatment administration, and emotional support throughout the fertility process.
Key Responsibilities:
• Patient Care:
• Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing IVF treatments, including administering medications, managing injections, and monitoring patient responses.
• Prepare and administer injectable medications as prescribed by the fertility specialist and monitor for any side effects.
• Assist in the collection and processing of specimens (e.g., blood, urine) for diagnostic testing and evaluations.
• IVF Treatment Coordination:
• Educate patients on the IVF process, medication protocols, and self-care instructions, leveraging OB/GYN knowledge to address related concerns.
• Schedule and coordinate IVF-related procedures, including ultrasounds, egg retrievals, and embryo transfers.
• Monitor and document patient progress throughout the IVF cycle, ensuring accurate records and timely updates.
• OB/GYN Support:
• Apply OB/GYN knowledge to manage and assist with cases involving complex fertility issues or concurrent gynecological conditions.
• Collaborate with OB/GYN specialists to provide holistic care and address any overlapping health concerns.
• Assist in managing prenatal and postnatal care if applicable, and provide guidance on reproductive health issues.
• Patient Support and Counseling:
• Offer emotional support and counseling to patients undergoing IVF, addressing both fertility and general reproductive health concerns.
• Provide reassurance and answer patient questions related to their treatment and OB/GYN issues.
• Clinical Duties:
• Assist with IVF procedures such as egg retrieval and embryo transfer, applying OB/GYN expertise where necessary.
• Ensure proper maintenance and handling of medical equipment used in IVF and OB/GYN treatments.
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment.
• Documentation and Record-Keeping:
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including treatment plans, medication administration, and clinical observations.
• Ensure all documentation complies with regulatory standards and clinic policies.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate with fertility specialists, OB/GYN practitioners, embryologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing clear instructions and updates on treatment progress.
• Quality and Compliance:
• Adhere to clinic policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements related to IVF and OB/GYN care.
• Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with best practices in IVF nursing and OB/GYN care.
Qualifications:
• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid MOH evaluation letter/license
• Can speak fluent Arabic
• Based in Ras Al Khaimah/Willing to relocate in Ras Al Khaimah
