Job Description

• Research and identify solutions to software and hardware issues
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including account setup and network configuration
• Ask customers targeted questions to quickly understand the root of the problem
• Track computer system issues through to resolution, within agreed time limits
• Talk clients through a series of actions, either via phone, email or chat, until they've solved a technical issue
• Properly escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams (e.g. software developers)
• Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers
• Refer to internal database or external resources to provide accurate tech solutions
• Ensure all issues are properly logged
• Prioritize and manage several open issues at one time
• Follow up with clients to ensure their IT systems are fully functional after troubleshooting
• Prepare accurate and timely reports
• Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals
• Maintain jovial relationships with clients
• Good know ledge about CCTV installation & configuration

A Support technician resolves all IT-related problems. They should possess deep technical knowledge to address network faults quickly and efficiently. The professional will assist in managing projects along with reviewing the operational manual. The technical support experience comes in handy and having a strong in delivering IT technical service and process, in line with ITIL methodologies is an added advantage. The engineer has to provide technical support and troubleshoot any IT related issues. The job role includes tasks such as setting up an email, enhancing and developing IT provision and system diagnostics. Apart from these, here are some important tasks that come under this job purview:

Monitoring

Primary responsibilities of a Support Engineer include continuous monitoring of systems, software, and hardware. These professionals keep track of the developments with the help of monitoring tools. They identify the network issues and resolve them quickly. They often work with multiple parties on a day-to-day basis. They will guide the organization in investing in proper monitoring tools while also training employees on how to use them. The IT Support Engineer will play an active role in monitoring the PC's, software and servers. They manage inventory of tools, fixtures, and procurement. The professional must work closely with different teams and vendors as and when required. They should provide all the necessary technical support to different team members to overcome any issues.

Troubleshooting

The IT technician should prioritize and work on client issues without disturbing their workflow. Troubleshooting relies on a step-by-step procedure. They should always look for causality to identify the problem. It will make it easier for other professionals to resolve it.
