Job Overview
The IT and Network Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring efficient operation, and providing technical support to users. This role involves managing network systems, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and assisting in the implementation of new technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Network Management:
Monitor, maintain, and optimize local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN).
Install, configure, and support network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
Ensure network security by implementing and managing security measures and protocols.
Perform regular network performance tuning and capacity planning.
Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and coordinate with service providers.
Technical Support:
Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
Respond to user inquiries, diagnose problems, and guide users through step-by-step solutions.
Manage helpdesk tickets and ensure timely resolution of issues.
System Administration:
Perform regular maintenance and updates on operating systems and application software.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
Back up and restore data as necessary.
Implement and manage virtualized environments.
Documentation and Training:
Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, system processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
Provide training to end-users on new software and hardware installations.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in IT support or network administration.
Certifications:
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), or Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) are preferred.
Skills
Technical Proficiency:
Strong knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
Experience with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software (Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory).
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High attention to detail and organizational skills
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED4,000.00 per month
