Job Overview:

The IT Pillar Specialist is responsible for applying existing knowledge and experience in the IT Pillar (IT) discipline to support routine assignments. They will use best practices and knowledge of internal or external issues to improve products or services in the IT Pillar (IT) discipline.





Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• AVEVA P&ID Administration including setup, restore & upgrade AVEVA P&ID projects (SQL). Create symbology, Labels, rulesets, filters, reports, system & project maintenance, etc.
• Configure & customize the application & align with McDermott Standards & project requirements.
• Provide end-user support with best practice for P&ID preparation, work instructions to maximize productivity.
• Good experience of AVEVA P&ID projects on servers and deploy on Citrix for end-users.
• Maintain the AVEVA P&ID databases for projects including transfers, reports, MTO creation & downloads, data integrity, etc.
• Work with other AVEVA admins (E3D, Engineering, AVEVA E&I) to establish a integrated engineering environment using AVEVA Integration Service.
• Support with technical requirements gathering and client meetings and implementing new AVEVA P&ID deployments.
• Produce setup documentation detailing the setup, user work instructions and prepare end-user guides as per client & project requirement. Provide necessary inputs to disciplines, other admins in development of documentations, best practices etc.
• Trouble-shoot and solve P&ID problems to ensure data & project integrity.
• Follow & implement department and client drafting methods and standards.
• Create audit checklists & reports to check for quality assurance.
• Maintain and verify daily backup routines.
• Help develop automation enhancements (Develop Macros, PML & scripts).
• Periodically conduct user training & best practice sessions to end-users.
• The IT Pillar Specialist analyst will primarily provide user support to engineering, procurement, and site/construction
• Communicate with internal users of the application to address and solve user's business and application needs
• Write functional specifications, design, and test developed reports, and assist with user training
• Serve as functional lead and or PM on IT Projects
• Work closely with the various business units during the upgrade of Smart Plant Materials and then provide follow-up support
• Assist process owner with analyzing, clarifying, and documenting work processes
• Solve user problems and identify other areas of opportunity


Essential Qualifications & Education:

• Degree in engineering or equivalent technical diploma. Strong understanding of process & instrumentation diagram in engineering and design, drafting applications and engineering data integration software packages.
• At least 6-8 years' experience in AVEVA P&ID Administration, utilizes current systems technology, tools and processes to achieve project execution goals. Good understanding of engineering practices & project execution concepts.
• An understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction processes in executing an EPC project
• In addition to the industry background, the analyst will need strong skills in the following areas: communication, developing and documenting requirements and specifications, development, and planning of processes to solve the user's business and application needs, and IT project management methodology
• Good communication skills are a must
• Working knowledge of the business units or processes supported by the application
• In-depth understanding of how the application software has been set up and integrated to support business needs
• Ability to conduct functional testing of the application
• Complete understanding of data use, processes, and output
• Strong understanding of current engineering design, drafting applications and engineering data integration software applications.
• Experience in AVEVA P&ID Administration. utilizes current systems technology, tools, and processes to achieve these aims. Good understanding of engineering practices & project execution concepts.
• Strong aptitude for project planning and implementation of new design software
• Strong verbal and written communication skills is a must have to effectively work with the engineering disciplines. This position requires strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team including process, mechanical, civil-structural, electrical, instrumentation, and CAD support.
• Knowledge of PML Programming and DABACON queries will be considered as an asset.
• Knowledge of server-side deployment & Citrix Deployment will be considered as an asset.
• Other AVEVA Applications experience will be considered as asset. SmartPlant P&ID exposure is also considered as asset.
