Job Purpose

The role holder is primarily responsible for supporting the Chief Technology Officer in the development and implementation of the Information Technology Infrastructure and Cloud projects and the day-to-day operations of the Infrastructure and Cloud Unit, in alignment with the overall IT Strategy. The role holder ensures the smooth running of information technology related activities and ensures optimum level of infrastructure and Cloud is maintained across all INDEX Systems

Responsibilities

Oversees the IT governance processes related to the Infrastructure and Cloud domain and ensure the IT investments and assets are safeguarded, managed, and accounted for

Monitor IT policies and procedures, computing standards, corporate data, proprietary information, and ensure intellectual property are identified, benchmarked, protected, and catalogued;

Monitor all Servers and IT Systems and Services that are running related to the IT Infrastructure and Cloud domain. Ensure all are running optimally with no major issues while allowing best mechanism of monitoring of all running systems;

Ensure to implement the best industry practice in batch management while allowing all the systems to be regularly updated with the latest approved batches by the Systems providers.

Assist in implementation of the IT strategies, policies, and procedures;

Implement the relevant Office 365 solution in INDEX and all its subsidiaries

Develop and recommends improvements to IT policies, procedures and processes and implements approved policies, processes, procedures, and instructions

Review the documentation for the IT infrastructure regularly and ensure it is up to date;

Prioritize the development and implementation of the IT infrastructure and cloud projects;

Ensure that all IT infrastructure and cloud projects are efficiently planned and delivered on time, cost and progress is tracked, communicated, and escalated, and requisite actions taken, as necessary.

Identify new IT products and oversee IT related procurement management and vendor management;

Controls budget allocation (CAPEX and OPEX) as per approved budget.

Review the access rights to all relevant Infrastructure systems and servers regularly and do the required measures to ensure the corrective whenever required;

Ensure to apply the best practice of maintaining the incident logs and track them appropriately

Renew the contracts under Infrastructure and Cloud by checking with vendors and reviewing the contracts with the Management

Oversee data restoration periodically to ensure the consistency of the backup data and integration;

Assist in controlling IT related risk by advising management and functional units on all IT policies and procedures;

Ensure the confidentiality and protection of corporate data, proprietary information, and intellectual property;

Manage crisis situations, involving complex technical hardware or software problems and ensure adequate provision for business continuity and disaster recovery;

Maintain all departmental technology requirements including hardware, support, infrastructure, and cloud needs are met on time;

Lead activities related to the procurement of IT equipment, hardware, and software for INDEX by Solicit, study, and evaluate vendor proposals to obtain competitive prices and ensure cost effectiveness, in addition, identify and develop new vendors and supervise vendor management for the department;

Execute the Infrastructure and Cloud projects and their budgets to support the delivery of IT projects as per the IT Strategy;

Undertake such other tasks as and when required by the Chief Technology Officer
