Position Title: IT Associate

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated IT Associate with experience in the hotel industry to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the hotel's IT systems, including guest services, internal software, networks, hardware, and IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong technical troubleshooting skills and a solid understanding of hotel-specific IT systems such as Property Management Systems (PMS), Point of Sale (POS) systems, and networking for guest services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide technical support to hotel staff, ensuring smooth operation of hotel systems (PMS, POS, booking systems, etc.).
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and network systems, minimizing downtime for hotel operations.
• Set up and maintain IT equipment, including computers, printers, tablets, and guest-facing devices.
• Monitor and maintain the hotel's network infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity for both staff and guests.
• Provide support for guest-facing technology such as Wi-Fi, in-room entertainment, and self-check-in kiosks.
• Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hotel-specific applications and systems.
• Ensure the security and privacy of hotel data, including guest information, payment details, and business systems.
• Assist in setting up and maintaining audiovisual systems for conference rooms, meetings, and events.
• Perform routine maintenance and software updates for systems and equipment, including ensuring the security of all devices.
• Train hotel staff on new systems or IT tools, providing on-demand technical assistance as needed.
• Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Monitor and manage IT inventory, including hardware and software licenses.
• Collaborate with external vendors or contractors for system installations, upgrades, and support when required.
• Provide backup and recovery services to safeguard important hotel data and guest records.
• Respond to IT helpdesk tickets, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.
• Stay updated on new technologies and innovations in the hospitality industry, recommending improvements to enhance guest experience and operational efficiency.
Requirements:
• A degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in an IT support role, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of hotel-specific software and systems (PMS, POS, booking engines, etc.).
• Familiarity with hotel IT infrastructure, including guest Wi-Fi, TV systems, and in-room technology.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software issues.
• Experience working with network management, routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Strong understanding of IT security protocols and data protection, especially regarding guest privacy.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff and guests.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and work under pressure in a fast-paced hotel environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, to support hotel operations.
Desirable Skills:
• Experience with cloud-based hotel management systems.
• Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
• Basic knowledge of programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus.
• Certification in networking or systems administration (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco) is an advantage.
