Our client, a dynamic Abu Dhabi government entity is looking for an IP Lead who would manage research and development of IP-related activities and initiatives developed by the entity.
Role:
- Develop IP capability as a new function - Develop IP capabilities in terms of people and skills, tools, processes, regulations - Build connections with Abu Dhabi and U.S. IP and IP commercialization-related decision makers, regulators to further strengthen IP capability of the organization - Identify, select and manage relevant third-party resources to support the IP activities - Spread awareness of IP institutional policies and provide training to promote the generation of IP assets - Scan, monitor, and investigate potential ideas for IP within the research funded - Identify new opportunities for expansion and renewal of existing uses of IP - Ensure Abu Dhabi and UAE benefit appropriately from IP created by Abu Dhabi/UAE funded activities - Contribute to the department\'s development and performance through setting objectives, evaluating performance, identifying areas for development, and ensuring that the team members are receiving the adequate training to advance their skills and competencies - Lead and support on practice building initiatives e.g., learning and development, recruitment, etc.
Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in either research grant management either as part of a research funding body, higher education institution, or a government department/ministry of education or in IP government, university or corporate IP and commercialization office - Demonstrable experience in managing engagement with stakeholders in the R&D IP ecosystem - Experience in leading complex, multi-stakeholder research projects, preferably in the public sector - Experience managing and mentoring team members - Strong understanding of the international, regional and local trends in the higher education research industry - Strong knowledge in preparing PowerPoint presentation including content creation, structuring and storyboarding
