Job Description

The Inventory Controller is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory levels within a company or organization. This role involves overseeing inventory control processes, implementing efficient inventory management systems, conducting regular audits, and coordinating with various departments to ensure optimal inventory levels. The Inventory Controller plays a crucial role in minimizing inventory costs, maximizing efficiency, and preventing stockouts or overstock situations. Key Responsibilities: 1. Inventory Management: Develop and implement inventory control procedures, including receiving, storage, and distribution of inventory items. Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management software or systems. 2. Inventory Audits: Conduct regular physical inventory counts to reconcile system records with actual stock levels. Investigate and resolve discrepancies, identify causes of inventory shrinkage, and implement measures to prevent theft, damage, or obsolescence. 3. Inventory Reporting: Generate and analyze inventory reports, including stock levels, turnover rates, and slow-moving or obsolete items. Provide regular reports to management, highlighting key findings, trends, and recommendations for improving inventory management and cost control. 4. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline inventory processes, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency. Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize inventory control procedures. 5. Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborate with procurement, production, sales, and finance departments to ensure smooth coordination and alignment of inventory activities. Communicate effectively to address any inventory-related issues or concerns. Qualifications and Skills: - Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field (preferred). - Proven experience as an Inventory Controller or similar role. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Proficiency in using inventory management software or systems. - Knowledge of inventory control best practices and techniques. - Excellent organizational and time management abilities. - Strong attention to detail and accuracy. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
