Join AECOM\'s dynamic team as an Intern Project Surveyor and contribute to diverse projects across various sectors.AECOM\'s Project Cost Consultancy team offers comprehensive advisory services to project sponsors, developers, and lenders involved in built asset and infrastructure projects. We guide our clients through the risks and complexities of transactions across various sectors. We advise clients across the whole investment life cycle from evaluating investment opportunities to detailed due diligence and monitoring during the construction phase of projects.As an Intern Project Surveyor, you will be involved in all commercial activities during the pre and post contract phases of a construction project. This will cover several different types of packages from fit-outs to new builds, sitewide utilities and infrastructure works, giving you a wide range of knowledge & experience. You will complete a range of tasks within the team, including: Measurement, Volume 1 & 3 Production, Contracts & Procurement, Cost Forecasting, Variation Management, Market Testing, Cost Planning, Payment Administration & Liaising with clients.
  • Conducting quantity measurements for cost plans, estimates, and bills of quantities.
  • Assisting in the preparation of tender documentation.
  • Contributing to viability studies and cost estimates.
  • Implementing and monitoring cost control procedures throughout project duration.
  • Evaluating variations, additions, and omissions, and incorporating them into monthly cost reports.
  • Assisting in preparing, pricing, and negotiating change orders with clients and contractors.
  • Conducting market tests, analyzing tender returns, and inputting data into rates databases and estimates.

  • Currently enrolled in the 2nd or 3rd year of a Civil Engineering OR Quantity Surveying Degree program at an accredited University
  • Maintaining a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Available to participate in our Summer Internship Program from July to August 2024. Please be advised that if either the student or university requires a shorter or longer duration with a varying start/end date to fulfil course requirements, please inform us, and we will assess on a case-by-case basis to explore how we can support.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
