Job Overview: The Director of Operations will support the CEO in setting the corporate strategic direction, vision, and strategy, specifically for the operations of Emergency Response Services Training and Consultancy projects. This role involves managing operational policies, directives, procedures, performance targets, and plans to ensure alignment with shareholders' vision and strategy. The Director of Operations will also focus on developing and protecting brand integrity, as well as improving overall operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strategic Support:
• Assist the CEO in establishing corporate strategic direction, vision, and strategy for Emergency Response Services Training and Consultancy.
• Translate corporate vision and strategy into operational policies, procedures, and plans, ensuring alignment with shareholder expectations.
• Communicate top-level decisions throughout the organization.
• Provide periodic reports and assessments to the CEO on operational strategy and training facilities.
• Periodically review and adjust the company's overall strategy in response to changing business conditions.
• Operational Management:
• Monitor and track programs/projects, establish KPIs, and implement corrective measures.
• Develop and implement performance metrics to measure operational effectiveness.
• Manage resources, including personnel, assets, and information within the operations department.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Ensure effective management processes for decision-making and conflict resolution at all operational levels.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work with cross-functional teams to implement operational changes and improvements.
• Communicate and build commitment to organizational policies and procedures among stakeholders.
• Manage the implementation and effectiveness of operational policies and directives.
• Project and Program Management:
• Review business and investment evaluations (e.g., cost, ROI, NPV, IRR, payback period).
• Assist the CEO in reviewing prime contracts/bids and selecting projects/programs.
• Define project/program requirements, objectives, and customer expectations.
• Review and manage project/program plans, budgets, resources, and schedules for profitability and compliance.
• Stay informed about internal business changes and challenges, particularly in HSE, Emergency Response, and Disaster Management.
• Business Development Support:
• Assist in communicating with stakeholders on business development, project scoping, development processes, and budgets.
• Review and manage execution plans for project/program budgets and resources with stakeholders.
• Talent Management:
• Support the CEO in developing and monitoring succession plans for top leadership positions.
• Ensure the attraction, retention, and development of a high-performance workforce in coordination with human capital.
• Other Responsibilities:
• Perform other business activities as directed by the CEO and in accordance with company policy.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field; MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in operations management, with a significant portion in a leadership role.
• Proven track record in managing complex projects and programs in the energy industry.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in operational software and tools.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
