Overview:
The Interface Engineer is responsible for managing and coordinating technical interfaces between various project disciplines, stakeholders, and external parties to ensure seamless integration and alignment throughout the project lifecycle. This role involves identifying and resolving interface issues, maintaining effective communication channels, and ensuring that all parties are aligned on project objectives, schedules, and requirements.
Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate interfaces between project disciplines, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure consistent and efficient communication.
Identify potential interface issues early in the project lifecycle and work with relevant parties to develop and implement effective resolution strategies.
Develop and maintain interface management plans, procedures, and registers to track interface points, responsibilities, and status.
Facilitate regular interface meetings and workshops to align stakeholders, resolve interface issues, and ensure smooth project progress.
Collaborate with engineering, construction, and project management teams to ensure that technical interfaces are effectively managed throughout the project.
Monitor and report on the status of interfaces, highlighting any risks, issues, or delays that could impact project performance.
Ensure that interface requirements are clearly defined, documented, and communicated to all relevant parties.
Maintain accurate records of interface agreements, correspondence, and actions to support effective project execution and accountability.
Support the integration of design, procurement, and construction activities by ensuring that all parties have access to up-to-date information and technical data. Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related field). Certifications / Specialization / IT Skills:
Familiarity with interface management software and tools (e.g., SharePoint, Interface Management Systems).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software. Years of Experience:
Minimum 7 years of experience in engineering or project management roles, with at least 3 years in interface management, preferably in the oil and gas or construction industries. Technical Knowledge:
Interface Management: In-depth knowledge of interface management principles, including experience in developing interface registers, coordinating technical interfaces, and facilitating cross-discipline communication.
Project Coordination: Strong understanding of project workflows, engineering design processes, and the ability to coordinate and resolve complex technical interfaces between multiple stakeholders.
