PURPOSE OF THE JOB:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Instrumentation Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, specifying, and implementing instrumentation systems for Oil & Gas projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop detailed engineering designs and specifications for instrumentation systems including Instrument Index, Datasheets, Loop Diagrams, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and control system architecture.
Perform calculations, simulations, and analysis to ensure accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of instrumentation designs.
Select appropriate instrumentation components and equipment based on project requirements and technical specifications.
Prepare technical proposals, feasibility studies, and cost estimates for instrumentation systems.
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including process engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and designers to integrate instrumentation designs into overall project deliverables.
Conduct technical reviews, inspections, and audits to verify adherence to design standards, specifications, and safety regulations.
Provide technical support during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases, resolving technical issues and ensuring quality and timely delivery of instrumentation systems.
Participate in HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) studies, design reviews, and risk assessments as required.
Keep abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to instrumentation engineering.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related field. A Masters degree may be preferred.
Proven experience of 5+ years as an Instrumentation Engineer in an Engineering Consultancy within the Oil & Gas industry.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of international codes and standards (e.g., ISA, API, IEC) relevant to instrumentation design.
Proficiency in engineering software tools such as AutoCAD, SPI (SmartPlant Instrumentation), PLC/DCS programming software, and simulation tools.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex technical problems.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification (Preferred).
Experience with SIL (Safety Integrity Level) analysis and certification (Preferred).
Familiarity with project management principles and practices (Preferred).
Prior experience in conducting design optimization and value engineering studies (Preferred).
